202512-22/29 our family holiday Gambia part II

There where you can feel the experience how people live and try to make a hard and difficult living, between a very beautiful nature, and raw reality. That's not so easy, because I had never seen the difference between rich and poor so clearly, as during this 9 days stay in this African country. For us it was the first time we went to Africa, only my daughter in law and our youngest grandson has been earlier in the African continent. This beautiful country, where a high percentage of women has a single household to run, very often with some kids, left alone by there husbands. In this country are the male on "pole position", and the women come mostly on the second plan. But there are very independent and hard working women who tries to keep there head above the waterline, to make their live livable. And I can tel you we met a few of these women, who, in my opinion with a little help, will certainly succeed......
But besides all these "troubled and hard working peoples", who if they are very lucky, make about 80 euro a month, in a not so easy environment, we had a very nice, colorful, and a very merry Christmas, and stay in this foreign country. Six hours away from the Netherlands, with our blessed family. Thanks to our kids for the invitation for this lovely experience.....
